Why can't EGYM directly delete the EGYM member's account at the gym's request?
To comply with GDPR regulations, we require explicit confirmation from the account owner before deleting their data. This ensures that we have the necessary authorization to process their personal information.
What we can always do without involving the member is to delete their data that belongs to the gym.
How can a gym request the deletion of a member's account?
A gym can request the deletion of a member's account by providing the following information to our support:
- The member's name
- The member's email address
- A clear statement confirming that the gym has obtained the member's consent for the deletion
If the above is not possible, the member will have to reach out to us by sending an email from the EGYM address they want to delete and is registered in our system.
What happens when an account is deleted?
Once an account is deleted, all associated data will be permanently removed from our systems. Please note that deleted accounts cannot be restored.
